The South Carolina Old West Shootists (SCOWS) held one of its regularly scheduled “Second Sunday” match on August 13, 2023, in the Cooper Pistol Bays at the Mid-Carolina Rifle Club.
We had 5 shooters brave the forecast heat advisory to come out and shoot 4 stages based on actual gunfights from the Old West. For this match, those gunfights were all based on Kiowa raids in North Texas during the 1860s & ’70s. Luckily, we completed the match before the major heat kicked in, and, while it was still a hot morning, we all pulled through.
There were no clean shooters for the match.
