The South Carolina Old West Shootists (SCOWS), the local NCOWS posse that holds its matches at the Mid-Carolina Rifle Club (MCRC), recently held its regularly scheduled “2nd Sunday” Monthly Match for August on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the Cooper Pistol Bays at MCRC. We had a total of nine (9) Shooters, including 1 Lady Shootist and 1 Junior, shooting in nine (9) separate categories involving shooting 2, 3 or 4 guns, who braved the heat to come out to shoot with us. There was one clean shooter for the match — congrats to SGT. Henry!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our next scheduled match is our annual CAPT JEB Forrest Memorial Match as a “5th Saturday” match on Saturday, August 29. This year’s match will include a dedication of the two of the Pistol bays we use for our cowboy matches to CAPT JEB and to Moonshine. As always, a picnic-style luncheon will be served.
