March 2025 IDPA Report

We had 28 shooters come to our March 22nd match at MCRC. The weather was clear; temps climbed into the high 60’s. 4 scenario stages and 1 standards stage. Thanks everyone for attending our match.

Winners of each class and their division (from Practiscore):

High Master: Bryan Smith (also High Carry Optics Pistol)

High Expert: Eric Jackson (also High Pistol Caliber Carbine and High Overall)

High Sharpshooter: Brian Mello (also High Custom Defensive Pistol)

High Marksman: Geraldo Cruzado (PCC)

High Novice: Nancy Grunnet (CO)

High Unclassified: George Keith (CO)

Most Accurate: Bryan Smith, down 7 for the match, excellent. (Most Accurate are shooters that did not hit a non-threat target on any stage). 16 shooters made the Most Accurate list.

High Stock Service Pistol: Bob Gonzalez, EX

High Enhanced Service Pistol: Carl Thompson, EX

High Concealed Carry Pistol: Mike Dawson, SS

Setup Crew: Geraldo Cruzado, Marc Richman, Don Rawls. Many thanks to our local MCRC Safety Officers and all the other Safety Officers and Scorekeepers.

Honorable Mention: Travis Crain, High REV. This man put on a clinic on how to run a revolver through an IDPA stage.

Seniors /Distinguished Seniors – 15

Division and Classification breakdown:

Carry Optics Pistol had 14 shooters.

Expert class had the most IDPA shooters at 10.

Stage winners:

Stage 1, Surprise [3 rounds per, moving right to left, surprise target, head shot only at the end]: Bryan Smith, CO, 17.51 seconds, 0 down.

Stage 2, Inside Out [Shots through a window, then movement required to both sides, high potential for shoot throughs]: Eric Jackson, PCC, 17.32, 2 down.

Stage 3, Sams Blues [Hands on towel start, proceed through Corey’s door, final 2 targets tucked behind a wall]: Eric Jackson, 12.12, 0 down.

Stage 4, Clean Up Aisle 3 [bad guys carrying monitors, hiding behind a shower curtain, behind a silt fence and a screened window]: Eric Jackson, PCC, 18.84, 2 down.

Stage 5, DDT Standards [standards stage, no movement, 2 double drop turners]: Eric Jackson, PCC, 10.63, 0 down.

March Stage Breakdown:

Stage 1, “Surprise” by Marc Richman

On this stage, 6 shooters hit a non-threat, and 3 had a procedural error. 4 shooters shot it perfectly with 0 down and 0 penalty.
