A SASS Cowboy Action Match is a four-gun game: 2 single action revolvers; a lever action, pistol caliber rifle; and a Winchester 97 pump, Winchester 87 lever action shotgun, or any Double Barrel Shotgun 12 gauge or 20 gauge.
The match typically uses 3 bays, leaving 3 bays open for club members during the match. After setup, members can shoot around the setup stages provided they do not move or shoot the props, or they can shoot in the bays not used by the match. The Saturday match uses 3 of the pistol bays, but the competition scenarios start ending at 1 pm Saturday and all bays are open for members use by 2 pm.
