Our local NCOWS posse, the South Carolina Old West Shootists (SCOWS) recently held its regularly scheduled “2nd Sunday” Monthly Match on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the Cooper Pistol Bays at the Mid-Carolina Rifle Club (MCRC). We had a total of seven (7) Shooters, including a new Shooter and 1 Lady Shootist. Weather was cold, but it slowly warmed up, and fun was had by all. There was one clean shooter – congratulations to SGT Rick Henry.

Battle of Aiken
The annual Battle of Aiken historical Civil War-era reenactment will be held the weekend of Friday, Feb. 20 through Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026 — at the Battle of Aiken Park, 1210 Powell Pond Rd., Aiken, SC 29801. Once again, the South Carolina Old West Shootists have been asked to serve as Provost Marshals for the event. All are encouraged to come out and enjoy a day or two (or even all three) at this premiere event.
