November 2023 IDPA Report

We had 47 shooters come to our November 25, 2023 Toys For Tots Fundraiser match at MCRC. Temp in the bays was 70 degrees. 4 scenario stages; 1 TFT Non IDPA special challenge stage and 1 warm up standards stage. A good crowd for Thanksgiving weekend when many are out of town or hosting family at home. If you were able to make it out, thanks for attending and for helping us raise some money for this worthy cause.

Also our gun raffle raised over 1k for new range equipment! Look for new props in 2024!

Winners of each class and their division (from Practiscore):

High Rifle [Pistol Caliber Carbine]: Mike Wilkerson (also High Overall, High Master Class, and Most Accurate)

High Handgun: Bob Bailey (Carry Optics Pistol); (2nd Place Overall and High Expert)

High Sharpshooter: Frank Price (PCC)

High Marksman: Matthew Stugart (COP)

High Novice: Nancy Grunnet (COP)

High Unclassified: Derek Spoor (COP)

Most Accurate: Both Mike and Bob were down 4 for the match, excellent. 36 shooters made the Most Accurate list (they did not hit a non-threat target on any stage)

High Concealed Carry Pistol: Geremy Velez (also high SS Pistol)

High Custom Defensive Pistol: Dan Higgins, MM

High Enhanced Service Pistol: Adam Scott, UN

High Stock Service Pistol: Gerald Douglas, EX

Honorable Mention: Goes to Dan Higgins. He comes up from Hilton Head to attend our match, so he gets the long-distance award. We still are bringing in a lot of out-of-town shooters, mostly from Aiken and Summerville/Charleston. We seem to have lost some of our Rock Hill/Charlotte area shooters to a new Action Pistol match being held the 4th Saturday in NC.

Setup Crew, Many Thanks: Mike Phillips, Roy Johnson, Stevie Phillips, Bob Bailey, Don Rawls, Jamie Elks, Jim Kornilieff, Bobby Franklin, Xenia Mountrouidou, Brent Stone and Marc Richman. We pulled out nearly every prop we have to build these stages, so help was needed and appreciated. Roy Johnson brought his boat and his knowledge of how to assemble the rarely used runner prop.

Match Breakdown:

Ladies – 6

Seniors /Distinguished Seniors – 25
